- Guide to Processing Times
Processing times in Singapore
Processing times for non-settlement visa applications (tourist,
business visit, student, returning resident visas) is 5
working days from the date you submit your documents and biometric
data at the visa application centre. If the UK Border Agency
requires more time to decide your visa application or to make
more detailed enquiries, your application may take up to 30
days to process.
Processing times for settlement visa applications (spouses,
civil partners and other family members applying to settle in
the UK) can take up to 10 weeks.
Please note: As visa applications are assessed individually,
the processing times may vary. Passports may be ready for collection
either before or after the times given above.
When to submit your application
You can start the visa application process up to 3 months in
advance of your planned travel date. The UK Border Agency advises
you to start the visa application process at least 5-10 weeks
prior to your planned travel date. This should allow you enough
time to complete your visa application form, submit your biometrics,
prepare your supporting documents and for the UK Border Agency
to process your visa application. You should not make your travel
arrangements to enter or transit through the United Kingdom
until you have received your visa.
Guide to processing times
This UK Border Agency guide gives visa applicants information
on how long their applications may take based on recent visa
processing performance. The guide cannot be used as a guarantee
of individual visa application processing times. Visa applicants
should bear in mind that each application is subject to an individual
assessment and processing times may vary.
The Guide
to Processing Times can be found on the UK Border Agency
Visa Services website.
